The one-stop women's guide to health, exercise and well being

There’s so much pressure on women these days.  The best way to look after yourself is to, well, look after yourself!  I’ve got some fitness tips for women, health and well-being wisdom to get you on the right track!  So grab a cup of green tea or a nice espresso, sit down and read on.

The frenetic pace of life these days coupled with juggling business and family commitments can leave many women a little frazzled and worn out.  Speaking from experience, being a martyr and sacrificing your time and energy at the expense of your own health will cause you to become ineffective, cynical and fatigued.   While human beings are not machines, like machines – both need regular maintenance and good treatment.  No-one wants to get to the point of needing to replace worn out parts!

You’ve probably heard this before but make a point of setting aside some time for yourself each day.  Go to a favourite place – outside or in, sit down and focus on your breathing. Try to inhale deeply to still and rest your mind and body.  (Write down anything that comes to mind – preferably not a shopping list or to-do list ok?)  Write down inspirations, positive things in your life that you’re thankful for and goals you want to reach.  If you’re feeling physically and mentally fatigued, then try to introduce some exercise on a daily basis.

Notice your environment, inhale oxygen and enjoy this free and effective form of exercise.

Ensure you look after your diet as well.  Take the pressure off feeling you need to sign up to the next diet and instead, bring awareness to how you are eating by keeping a food journal.  Often we’re reaching for unhealthy sugary snacks because we’re bored, tired or sad.  Try to work through this by choosing something healthy like a green tea, vege sticks, rice crackers and dip with a couple of squares of dark, anti-oxidant providing chocolate.  Now, doesn’t that sound delicious?
