Craig?Calliess?- Master Trainer

?Graduated: April 2005

Current Employer: Step into Life Franchisee

Craig worked in a call centre for the past 4 years but it wasn't his passion and felt he was beginning to stagnate. It was then he realised he needed to follow his passion for fitness.

Craig chose a career in fitness as he loves being around people who share the same life philosophy and "wants everyone on this earth to be active and healthy."

Craig thought the course was fantastic because "you are able to learn the theory and then immediately put it into practise by training a classmate. It really instils the learning."

Since graduating Craig greatest achievement has been? purchasing a Step Into Life franchise located at Mawson Lakes.

Craig's advise to students ? "Believe in yourself and in the knowledge you will receive from the institute. Get out there and take action, never ever give up until you are where you dreamed you would be!"

Chris?Sampson?- Master Trainer

Current Employer: Beach House

After finishing high school Chris had a number of casual jobs; nightfil, packing cherries and picking apples. However there was no future with any of them. He then made the choice to follow his passion?

Chris chose a career in fitness due to his love for sport & keen interest? in learning how the body functions.

The hands on aspect of the Master Trainer course really suited Chris. 'I am a visual learner so I found the use of diagrams & regularly being in the gym the best way to learn'.

His greatest achievement since graduating has been his appointment? as Beach House Health & Fitness Assistant Manager.

Chris' advise to students ? 'Enjoy it, take it all in, ask questions and remember?a smile can take you anywhere!'

For most 17 year olds enduring the stresses of year 12 is enough to deal with. Not for Nick, who completed his Master Trainer while finishing High School!

Nick sat down one day and asked himself "what do I enjoy and how can I get paid to do it". Fitness seemed the logical step as he had spent many years competing in elite sports.

Nick enjoyed the constant hands on practical nature of the course. "It was a great way to put into practice what we had just learnt."

His greatest achievement since graduating has been setting up his own business 'Sustain Fitness Personal Training'. "It was a great feeling to be approached by my first client and receive my first income!"

Nick's advise to students ? "Aim High, follow your passions and make the most of all of your opportunities. Make sure whatever your doing, you love it!"

Amy?Rickard?- Master Trainer

Graduated: October 2006

Current Employer: Fit on the Run

Amy used to work in retail, the job was ok but she never thought of it as a career. She made the decision to take a new direction?now at just 21 owns her own gym!

Amy chose a career in fitness because 'it sounded fun' and because of the versatility it offered. 'Everyday is different, you train new clients so there's always something new to talk about or a new member to get to know.'

Amy thought the course was 'great fun' and enjoyed how active it was. 'You didn't just spend all your time sitting at a desk having stuff drilled into you. You got to train each other and put the information into practice.'

Since graduating Amy has opened her own gym/personal training studio, Fit on the Run at Hampstead Gardens. An awesome achievement for someone her age.

Amy's advise to students ? 'Spend as much time in gyms as you can, watch the staff and how they interact with the clients, gym members and other staff. I found by watching other people in the industry you pretty quickly pick up on what makes a good and a bad trainer.'
