About Claire
Claire is a former International Middle Distance athlete with over 23 (yes count 'em) years of competitive running experience and most of this time has been spend training under the British Coach of the Year 2001 and 2002.? She has represented Great Britain and was County Champion no less than eight times, over a variety of terrains - track, road and cross-country and is also the reigning WA state short course cross country champion.? Claire's contemporaries and training partners include the current female Marathon World Record holder and Commonwealth bronze medallist.? This love of running has lead to a passion for all things 'fitness', particularly outdoor pursuits - even more so since leaving the chilly UK and relocating to sunny Australia in 2007.
Claire has an inherent desire to help people, which is why 'playing' at the Institute combines the best of both worlds.? Having played a big part in helping many clients change their lives and witnessed the difference a great Personal Trainer can make, she is keen to educate future warriors to the highest possible standard and in turn, help more people in their fight against SeDS.
Apparently life does exist outside of fitness and when Claire isn't pounding the streets she can be found at various airports around the world embarking on assorted adventures, illustrating cartoons, enjoying the Australian beaches (which are the best in the world - it's official) and enjoying delicious food (primarily desserts!).
Favourite Type of Training
- Running - obviously!!!
- Extreme '300' type work outs
- Group Exercise Classes
- Triathlon Training
- Anything outdoors!
