Academic Faculty
The Australian Institute of Fitness is proud to have established Australia's largest faculty of experts dedicated to training professionals for the fitness industry. As a Registered Training Organisation it is a requirement that all of our Course Coaches are qualified in the subjects taught. However, Institute goes one step further by ensuring Course Coaches also have relevant experience in the fitness industry so you can be sure you are learning from someone who has walked the talk.
Nationally, the Institute's faculty is governed by the Quality Training Committee. This committee ensures that the course delivery and assessment strategy is updated and compliant with the industry endorsed training package. Committee representatives have the expertise to combine curriculum design with fitness industry common sense. The committee members for 2008 are: David Hatch (Chair), Vicki Tuchtan (Vic), Lisa Chivers (NSW), Ben Butler (Qld), Grant Whiteside (WA), Darren Fidge (SA).
Institute has three schools to cover the three major disciplines. Each School has a National Master Coach, empowered to drive continual improvement and the highest standards of delivery. The Master Coaches for 2008 are: Lisa Chivers, School of Fitness; Vicki Tuchtan, School of Massage; Kerry McEvoy, School of Business. The National Master Coach works with a team of Regional Master Coaches to ensure national consistency.
Cutting Edge Fitness Education
For technical currency, Institute also calls on the services of its Panel of Advisers to ensure every aspect of the program is at the cutting edge of training. The Panel covers specialist topics such as nutrition, rehabilitation, medicine, obesity, exercise physiology, marketing, finance, management, children, elderly, aquatics etc.
Finally, our faculty of Course Coaches are judged by the most important person - you. Student feedback is measured and compared so that every coach in every course at every campus stays at the top of their game.
